Red Orchids

Buttery seafood fried rice, crispy hot butter cuttlefish, stir fried green beans in garlic sauce, and sweet and sour chicken make for a great Chinese food fiesta amply glazed with a touch of Sri Lanka. Red Orchids is Colombo’s latest entrant to the ever growing list of Sri Lankan Chinese restaurants. The menu consists of a wide variety of soups, appetizers, rice and noodle dishes, in addition to chicken, beef, pork and seafood dishes. Customer favourites include deep fried prawn balls accompanied by a sweet chilli sauce, sesame prawn toast, spare ribs (pork), and dumplings (chicken, fish, pork). Customers can pick from ice cream, fruit salad or lychees for dessert. Fresh fruit juices and soft drinks are available to accompany the meal. The restaurant consists of three dining areas, one on the ground floor in addition to a private room, and two on the first floor, one of which is indoors with a private room, and the outdoor dining area which overlooks the Indian Ocean.
