[title]The Festival of the New Harvest is the offering of rice from the first harvest of the Yala Kanna (Main Harvest) to the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi and devale. Farmers bring the rice in procession, it is received by the temple in ancient bowls and then offered to the Sri Maha Bodhi with silver coins.
