Stockholm’s Slakthusområdet has landed at number 15 in Time Out Worldwide’s ranking of the world’s coolest neighbourhoods.

Time Out has once again ranked the world’s coolest neighbourhoods, as chosen by local experts and editors. The selection is based on criteria including food and drink, nightlife, culture, quality of life and community. This year’s list spans everything from buzzing city centres to charming stretches of coastline and creative industrial districts, spotlighting places offering the very best in local culture, entertainment and community right now.
Taking the top spot on this year’s global list is historic Jongno 3-ga in Seoul, where traditional hanok neighbourhoods meet a buzzing nightlife and street-food scene. Europe also makes a strong showing near the top: L’Ocean District in Rabat takes second place, while bohemian Neos Kosmos in Athens comes in third. Other European highlights include Glasgow’s Govanhill at number five and Belfast’s lively Cathedral Quarter. And on spot number 15? Slakthusområdet – the Stockholm Meatpacking District ("Slaktis" to locals) where historic Art Nouveau brick warehouses have transformed into the city's premier hub for techno clubs, microbreweries, and acclaimed dining.
Looking for things to do in the neighbourhood? Here are the things you won’t want to miss in Slaktis.
