Tokyo is still in its second phase of reopening, meaning many non-essential venues are staying closed for now. Sanrio Puroland – the Tokyo theme park also known as Hello Kitty Land – has been closed for the past three months due to the pandemic, but Sanrio fans can still meet life-size versions of Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll and the gang from home via video chat.

Sanrio Puroland is hosting its first ever online character greeting sessions. You’ll get to chat with your favourite character for two minutes using the Talkport video app. The chat sessions will be held on June 14 from 11am-5.30pm. Places are limited and you won’t get a second chance if you miss out.

Bookings open on June 9 from 1pm-11.59pm through this link (Japanese only). You’ll get to choose a time slot and pick which of Sanrio’s 10 most popular characters you’d like to chat with. There’s just one more catch – a single session costs ¥4,000 (US$36), so use your two minutes wisely.
