With Valentine's Day just around the corner, there's no better time to indulge in a little bit of chocolate. And what better place to get in on all things cocoa than Ginza's very own Kit Kat Chocolatory? Kit Kat in Japan is known for its wild and wacky flavours, however for this occasion, the chocolate brand is going back to basics with an innovative dessert championing the pulp from the cacao fruit.

This new creation can be ordered at Kit Kat Chocolatory Ginza's second-floor sit-in café and is the brainchild of head chef Yasumasa Takagi. The dessert consists of a 20cm-long cocoa pod made of chocolate, which opens up to reveal a Kit Kat sitting atop a bed of fresh whipped cream infused with the fruity juice of the cocoa pulp. Cut the pod in half and you'll find chunks of fresh fruit, an almond biscuit and chocolate cream hidden within.

For extra oomph, a glass of warm cacao pulp juice is poured on top of the dessert, melting the pod into a decadent pile of cacao goodness.

The dessert is available from now until February 14 and is limited to only ten servings a day. Even with a hefty ¥3,000 price tag, it’s sure to appeal to those with a sweet tooth looking to get a photo of this totally Instagrammable treat.
