One of Tokyo’s most inventive cocktail bars is shaking things up with a menu inspired by convenience store favourites

In just a few years, Tokyo Confidential has established itself as one of Tokyo’s standout cocktail bars, thanks to its lively, welcoming atmosphere and creative drink list, which is refreshed every year. From a baseball-themed menu to one inspired by maneki-neko lucky cats, you never really know what to expect – and that’s all part of the excitement. The bar’s latest menu may be its most creative yet, as it transforms all your favourite konbini treats into inventive cocktails.
Appropriately titled Konbini Confidential, the new menu takes inspiration from classic convenience store staples, from cup noodles and onigiri rice balls to melon pan bread and your favourite gummy candies. Each cocktail is delightfully unexpected, offering a playful new way to experience these familiar faves in liquid form.
Taking a closer look at the menu, there’s the Confidential Noodle, a Cup Noodle-inspired highball shaken up with bourbon, awamori, mango, corn and a house-made noodle spice blend. It’s even served in a cheeky custom 3D-printed mug modelled after the iconic instant noodle cup.
If you enjoy a savoury cocktail, the Onigiritini is a must-order. This unique martini pulls from the key ingredients of an onigiri – rice, salt and seaweed – and is translated into drink form through a sake base with a touch of rice shochu, along with hints of seaweed and soy sauce to recreate that iconic onigiri flavour. It’s served with a little side bite of tuna mayo to really get the full onigiri effect.
Another savoury option is Mom’s Spaghetti, a Napolitan-inspired cocktail made with barley shochu, ketchup and a house pickle blend of onion, bell pepper and tomato.
On the sweeter side of the menu is the Melon Pan, a playful take on the classic sugary bread made with a custom melon pan-flavoured doburoku, TC’s house Butter Up Sake and rum. The best part, though, is the custom cup, which is designed to look just like the sweet bun.
The Night Hopper is one for mint chocolate lovers – a TC twist on the classic Grasshopper, made with rum, kusu, pandan, cacao, mint, cream and cookies.
A nod to the grape-flavoured gummies and sweets found in every konbini, the Give Me a White Wine Spritzer is a clean, easy-drinking cocktail made with Calvados, sherry, pisco, Niagara wine and Champagne.
Another fun one is the Famimarg, a spicy margarita inspired by the classic konbini hack of sandwiching spicy fried chicken between two maple pancakes. It features tequila, mezcal, spicy chicken seasoning, maple syrup and lime.
We’ve only highlighted a handful of the new drinks here, and there’s plenty more cocktails to discover when you visit. Better yet, Tokyo Confidential has kept its signature favourites on the menu, including the popular Cheung Fun Old Fashioned and Only Fans pornstar martini, alongside a selection of non-alcoholic cocktails, plus Fernet Branca and Guinness on tap. You can also order the bar’s signature hot dogs, along with a selection of fun bar snacks to keep you going.
Reservations aren’t necessary, but if you’d like to secure a spot – especially one with a view of Tokyo Tower – make a booking via TableCheck. Otherwise, simply walk in and get ready for a great time. For more information, visit the website.
