Tokyo Metro’s Hibiya line opened its new station on Saturday June 6, the first new station since the line became fully operational in 1964. Situated between Kamiyacho and Kasumigaseki stations, the Toranomon Hills Station is near Tokyo’s tallest modern skyscraper, the Toranomon Hills Mori Tower. The station also has an underground pathway that leads to the neighbouring Toranomon Station on the Ginza line.

Although Toranomon Hills station is now open, further construction will still take place. There’s a second basement-level concourse in the works to connect the station to surrounding buildings. The concourse is aiming to open by 2023, and the ticketing gates for Toranomon Hills Station will move to this location once it's ready.
Toranomon Hills Station also serves the new TH Liner (Japanese only) commuter train, which also began service on June 6. Operating on the Tobu Skytree and Hibiya lines, the TH Liner is a reserved seat-only train which connects Ebisu Station with Kuki Station up north in Saitama prefecture.
Toranomon Hills is just one of the many new developments in the Toranomon neighbourhood, with other exciting developments such as the Toranomon-Azabudai project also on the way.
