Setting aside current commander-in-chief Joe Biden's ice cream obsession, Barack Obama might be the most food-forward president this country has ever seen. He's got great taste in restaurants and has even slurped noodles in Vietnam with the late Anthony Bourdain. Let's not forget, too, that First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! campaign modernized nutritional labels and reinvented the food pyramid.

This is all to say that the Obamas know their stuff when it comes to food. So when theSkimm recently asked the former president to weigh in on his favorite states for food, our ears perked up. Obama listed off three states and his favorite dish to devour in each.

"Memphis barbecue, to New Orleans jambalaya, crab cakes in Maryland," Obama said in the quick-fire video. Of course, he admits that he's had some not-so-great chow on the campaign trail, too: "America's got a lot of good food out there. There are a handful of states where the food is terrible, but they shall go unmentioned."

Plan your post-pandemic road trips accordingly, America.
