The caffeine-charged holiday event of the season is finally here: Red Cup Day at Starbucks—when the company gives away a free, limited-edition reusable red holiday cup alongside any purchased holiday beverage—is back for 2025.

Following the debut of this year's holiday menu (and a hot new Bearista cold cup), this annual event is a highlight of the season at Starbucks.

What is Starbucks Red Cup Day?

Red Cup Day is an yearly Starbucks promotion that grants customers who purchase a qualifying holiday drink a free reusable red holiday cup. It’s become a seasonal highlight, the kind of event that fans anticipate and plan for. The cup is collectible, the drink is festive and the vibe is unmistakably “the holidays have arrived.” Red Cup Day signals the official start of Starbucks’ holiday menu rollout, with seasonal décor, merch drops and all the red-and-green energy.

When is Starbucks Red Cup Day 2025?

This year's Red Cup Day is happening on Thursday, November 13, 2025. The 2025 holiday menu of seasonal drinks, festive food items and new cup designs dropped on November 6, 2025.

How can I get a free holiday cup?

First, mark your calendar for November 13 so you remember to get to your local Starbucks (or order online) early. Delivery is also available through UberEats, DoorDash and GrubHub. But supplies are limited, so act fast.

You'll get the free, reusable cup when you buy any handcrafted holiday beverage (like the caramel brulée latte, iced sugar cookie latte or iced gingerbread chai) in any size.

Usually, Starbucks also grants special discounts to folks who use their reusable cups when visiting the shops (last year, those customers enjoyed 10% off any drink, for example). No such announcement has yet been made, but we're keeping our ears out.
