These are the most listened-to songs during quarantine—and they're pretty lame

With the world under lockdown, we've been turning to music, movies and cute animals to cure our boredom while at home. But what exactly we've all been listening to during the past month might come as some surprise. 

Sales channel OnBuy.com took it upon themselves to figure out the top songs the world has been listening to since lockdown began. To do so, keywords like coronavirus, COVID-19, lockdown and quarantine were plugged into Spotify and the top 500 playlists (a total of 35,000 songs!) with these words in their titles were collected. Each playlist was then cross compared to identify any duplicate songs. Songs that occurred the most out of the 500 playlists made the top 20 list. And the results are ... interesting. 

Toxic by Britney Spears topped the list by appearing on 20 percent of all quarantine playlists. Also in the top five were obvious titles like "Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees, "U Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer, "Don't Stand So Close to Me" by The Police and "I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor. At least we have a sense of humor when it comes to quarantine?
