Although mashed potatoes reign supreme when it comes to Thanksgiving side dishes, Americans gravitate towards cheesecake come Christmas—at least according to Google.

Career site Zippia crunched the numbers on this one: looking at Google Trends, the company examined over 40 classic Christmas treats (cake! Candy! Cookies!) and determined which one is searched for disproportionately across states.

You can check out the full map above and, below, find a state-by-state breakdown. But, before you do that, let us highlight some pretty standout findings. For example: 20 states prefer cakes over anything else while 12 look for candy and 10 opt for cookies; Missouri interestingly searches for "vegan Christmas cookies" more than any other state; North Dakota is the only fan of peanut butter blossoms and both North Carolina and South Carolina go nuts for fruitcake (pretty odd choice, if you ask us).

One more thing: the folks behind the study counted hot chocolate as a snack—Arizona's favorite treat, apparently. Let us know how you feel about that.

Fair warning before you peruse through the state-by-state breakdown: your sweet tooth is about to call out to you.
