What do we really notice when we look at someone? In WHITE EYES, Pannaporn Tantithamthiti replaces the eyes in her portraits with blank white spaces. Carefully rendered clothes, possessions and familiar settings remain, but the missing gaze makes each figure harder to read. Those photorealistic details also pull attention away from the people themselves. The exhibition asks how heavily we rely on appearances to understand others, particularly as screens, images and visual cues increasingly shape the way we see them.
