You certainly won’t miss this newly opened bar at Phrakanong lifestyle complex W District. Its entrance is marked by a gigantic cartoon of Donald Trump riding a nuclear missile with Kim Jong-un. The inside boasts sleek black marble tops, leather stools, and polished copper elements. One wall is adorned with black and white photos of popular historical figures, from Vincent Van Gogh to David Bowie.

Fancy spirits don’t line the shelves behind the bar. Instead, they have taps that house homemade flavored tonics for making the signature concoctions created by bar manager, Suwan “Tommy” Seeree. According to Tommy,  all of these cocktails are inspired by talk-of-the-town news, controversies, and famous figures from around the globe.

If you want to keep things simple, get Talk of Spritz (B270), a clear drink that combines London Dry Gin with rosé  limoncello and Peychaud’s Bitters, but if adventure is your middle name, try Almond Blossoms 1986 (B320), a Bacardi white rum-based drink mixed with passion  liqueur, green tea syrup, chocolate bitters, and lemon juice absinthe.

Another must-try is Red Lantern (B320), a drink that mixes lemongrass ginger vodka with yuzu sake, St-Germain liqueur, yellow chartreuse, and lemon juice, and topped with drops of Peychaud’s Bitters. This cocktail flexes a strong herbal taste, leaving a scorching feel as it runs down the throat. Or go for Be Blown Away (B320) if you want a drink with a funky Thai twist. This foamy drink combines Mekhong Thai Spirit with Rosso vermouth, yellow chartreuse, fresh pineapples, lime juice, and egg white.

DJs play an eclectic selection of tunes, from disco to funk to deep house to old-school hip hop, from Thursday to Saturday.
