Hong Kong's favorite Maxim's Cakes (named MX Cakes and Bakery outside its motherland) has finally opened its first Bangkok branch at Paragon Food Hall. The highlights include their signature nam-dok-mai mango crispy cake, fresh cream angel cake and matcha green tea made with authentic green tea flown from Kyoto. The hot tarts are also best sellers so expect a long queue. Choose among four fillings: egg whites, cheese lava. chicken or barbequed pork. There is also a great selection of bakery items like Hong Kong-styled pork bun featuring big chuncks of pork pieces and freshly baked bread selection. Try the brown rice bread stuffed with big chunks of cheddar chesse (perfect for health-enthusiasts on a cheat day).
