The very first Bangkok edition of Michelin Guide—the food nerd’s gastronomic bible—will be launched in the afternoon of 6 December at Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, followed by an awards ceremony at Siam Kempinski Hotel, and you can be a part of the splendid event, too.

To celebrate the occasion, four international Michelin superstars—Chan Yan Tak of three-starred Lung King Heen in Hong Kong, Thierry Marx of two-starred Sur Mesure par Thierry Marx in France, and Henrik Yde-Anderson of one-starred Kiin Kiin in Copenhagen—will join four local talents—Chayawee Sutcharitchan (Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin), Bongkoch Satongun (Paste), Thaninthorn Chantrawan (Siam Wisdom) and Yannis Janssens (L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon)—to churn out an elegant six-course dinner as the overture to the awards announcement. The dinner is priced at B20,000 per person (B30,000 for two people). You can book your ticket here, and please note that the dress code is black tie and evening gown.

Thailand is the 29th country in the world to have a self-titled Michelin Guide, one of the world’s most respected dining guides, known for star ratings given by anonymous and independent inspectors following five criteria: (1) quality of ingredients (2) mastery of cooking methods (3) chef’s personality (4) value for money and (5) consistency. The first year will focus on Bangkok restaurants, with an expansion to other major cities later on
