Bid farewell to the chaos at The Victory Monument. The messy de facto minivan terminals are being wiped out to proper locations across town.

The Victory Monument was once notorious for hordes of minivan passengers arriving and departing Bangkok from one of many pop-up terminals (with some of them operating illegally) throughout the traffic-packed roundabout. From now on, the National Council for Peace and Order has made a decision to relocate those hubs around The Victory Monument, as well as Mochit BTS Station and The Democracy Monument area, to one of the existing three bus terminals across town to tidy up the city’s chaotic minivan system.

According to Manager Online, minivan passengers heading north and north-east should head to Mochit 2 bus terminal. Ekkamai bus terminal and Southern bus terminal serve eastbound and westbound riders, respectively. Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) also provides free shuttle services for passengers from the Victory Monument to the Southern bus terminal from 4:30-20:30 and to Mochit 2 bus terminal from 5:30-20:30.

The plan hopes to ease the heavy-traffic condition in the Victory Monument area and also to cut down illegal minivan operators. Well, we hope this will work in the long run!
