Slowdive return to Bangkok with their signature dreamy sound on November 30
A cool breeze settles over Bangkok in late November, and with it arrives a haze of sound the city has waited a long time to hear properly. On November 30, Moonstar Studio hosts Slowdive, the Reading band widely credited as the architects of dreamlike soundscapes and the pioneers of that beautifully blurred world we call shoegaze.
Their guitars shimmer with reverb and delay, layered thick enough that individual notes stop mattering, while Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell sing in voices that fold over one another and hush in your ear. You stop trying to work out who is singing what. That's rather the point. The band treat loneliness and sadness not as feelings to hide from but as quiet, liveable rooms, and they invite you to sit down in them for ninety minutes.

Anyone who wore out a copy of 'Souvlaki' in a teenage bedroom knows exactly what 'Alison' does to a crowd. 'When the Sun Hits' still lands the way it did in 1993. Newer songs such as 'Kisses' prove the group aren't coasting on nostalgia either, still writing music that aches in precisely the right places three decades on.
Bangkok's own Death of Heather open the night, which is a lovely piece of programming. The Thai outfit make the same kind of melancholic noise and will have the venue thoroughly softened before the headliners walk on.
Moonstar sits out in Bang Kapi, so give yourself time. Early Bird tickets start at B2,300, capped at 300. Presale runs to B2,600 and general admission on the door is B3,000. Get your tix here.

Khalid brings the It’s Always Summer Somewhere Tour to Bangkok this November
Bangkok’s concert calendar has just added another big name. American singer Khalid, the voice behind ’Location’, ’Young Dumb & Broke’ and ’Talk’, is bringing the It’s Always Summer Somewhere Tour to UOB Live, Emsphere on 29 November 2026.
The Grammy-nominated artist has spent the best part of a decade turning soft-focus R&B into sing-it-back pop moments, with songs that feel made for late-night messages, first crushes and feelings best left unsent. Expect a set that leans into the hits while making room for newer material – less pyrotechnic spectacle, more thousands of voices singing every word back at him.

When and where
The concert takes place on Sunday November 29 2026 at UOB Live, on the sixth floor of EMSPHERE on Sukhumvit Road. Since opening, the venue has quickly become one of Bangkok’s go-to stages for international acts, and its late-2026 calendar is already looking busy.
How to get tickets
Tickets are priced from B2,800-3,300.
There are a few things worth sorting before presale day. Tickets are available exclusively online through ticketmaster.co.th, with no in-person sales at ThaiTicketMajor counters this time. You’ll need to set up a ticketing account in advance, and all tickets will be issued as e-tickets, so there is no physical ticket to collect.
The presale schedule runs across several days and channels:
Fan club presale: July 13, midday–11.59pm at bit.ly/itsalwayssummersomewherebkk
Mastercard presale: July 14, midday–July 15, 11.59am at bit.ly/itsalwayssummersomewherebkk
Trip.com presale: July 14, midday–July 15, 11.59am via Trip.com
UOB Mastercard presale: July 15, 2pm–10pm at bit.ly/itsalwayssummersomewherebkk
Live Nation Tero presale: July 16, midday–10pm at bit.ly/ps-khalidbkk2026 only (free membership required)
General sale: July 17, from midday onwards at bit.ly/itsalwayssummersomewherebkk
Not signed up with Live Nation Tero yet? Do it before presale day. The free membership is the only way into that slot, and with international acts making Bangkok a more regular stop, presale access can be the difference between decent seats and refreshing a sold-out page.

Music lovers reunite! Bangkok Music City returns January 2027
Why do some cities become dream destinations for music lovers? The answer may not lie in hosting major concerts throughout the year, but in the way music becomes an integral part of daily life. Music is a vital force that fosters communities, strengthens cultural identity and drives the city's creative economy. This is the core idea behind the concept of a ‘Music City’.
Enter Bangkok Music City – the city’s defining music event. Not quite a music festival, not quite a concert, it’s a chance for the city to serve up a huge artist showcase, packed with networking opportunities that allows emerging artists to meet with music industry leaders, record labels, producers and other professionals, both in Thailand and abroad. Guided by the idea of ‘Discover Asian Music’s Future,’ the event highlights the potential of Asian artists and positions them for the global stage.
The event also features a speaking panel and music conference that bring together music industry professionals to share experiences, discuss current trends and network. These activities serve as an important pillar in developing and elevating Thai music to a global level.
Photograph: Bangkok Music City2026
According to ‘The Mastering of a Music City’ report by IFPI and Music Canada, a Music City isn’t established solely from the number of musicians it produces. It must also have the space for artists to express themselves, audiences that are willing to actively support and businesses associated with the music industry that can grow together. Equally as important is the ability to attract visitors that seek musical experiences to generate income for local businesses like hotels, restaurants and other tourism-related services.
Photograph: Bangkok Music City2026
Evidence of this was on full display this past January, where the first iteration of Bangkok Music City brought together more than 86 Thai and international artists to perform in Charoen Krung, with free admission for the public.
The event transformed this creative district into a vibrant space filled with music, people and an atmosphere that truly reflects the spirit of a creative city.
Bangkok Music City 2027 has officially announced its return, along with an open call for artists from Thailand and around the world to take part in the festival. Thai artists can apply from July 6 to September 6, 2026, while international artists are invited to submit their applications between July 6 and August 13, 2026.
The location has yet to be announced, but more details and updates can be found at bangkokmusiccity, taking place January 30-31, 2027.

The French multi-instrumentalist FKJ plays Bangkok this November 27
The French multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer FKJ brings his acclaimed live show back to Asia this year, announcing a seven-city tour in support of his forthcoming third studio album, Tyber, and the genre-defying artist plays Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Seoul, Taipei and Tokyo.

If you've never seen him work, picture this. One man on a stage crowded with saxophones, keys and guitars, plus a loop pedal on the floor by his feet. He plays a phrase, records it, loops it back, then layers the next instrument on top until the room hears a full band. There's no backing track and no other musicians. He keeps a mic close so you catch him breathing between takes.

Tyber’s set to release on September 11, his first full-length since V I N C E N T, and he writes and records it across London, Los Angeles, Paris, Brazil and Mexico. It's a record made by someone in the middle of big changes, threading groove-led compositions, jazz instrumentals, sample-heavy experiments and psychedelic textures through what stands as his most expansive work yet. Lead single 'Soulmates' offers a warm way in, and the guest list tells you plenty: Lucy Park, Baby Rose, Bas, Eryn Allen Kane and Labrinth all appear across the 12-song tracklist, which he's already teased with 'Changes Rising'.
Over the years FKJ has earned a devoted following through a fusion of jazz, soul, funk, hip-hop, rock, classical and electronic music. More than 2.5 million people subscribe to his YouTube channel and he's played Coachella, Red Rocks and London's Hammersmith Apollo, often finishing a set drenched in sweat with the crowd on their feet.
Asia tour dates:
November 27 – UOB LIVE, Emsphere, Bangkok
November 29 – Arena @ EXPO, Singapore
December 1 – Zepp Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur
December 3 – AsiaWorld-Expo Hall 10, Hong Kong
December 6 – KINTEX Hall 10, Seoul

Monster Music Festival roars back with over 100 artists on the bill this July 25-26
After setting a fresh benchmark for unforgettable fun last year, the Monster Music Festival 2026 edition returns bigger, bolder and more complete than anything the city has thrown before. This is the ultimate metropolitan music weekend, the one that gathers every scene under a single roof. Indie, pop, hard rock, whatever moves you, this is where you lose yourself in sound from the first light of day right through to the final shimmer of night.
And the opening wave of names arrives with real swagger. Big Ass, Bowky Lion, Ink Waruntorn, Jeff Satur, Taitosmith, Three Man Down and YOUNGOHM lead the bill across two glorious days. More than a hundred artists still wait backstage, so clear your calendar now and thank us later.
Photograph: Monster Music FestivalQueen Sirikit National Convention Center
The music is only half of it, though. Monster runs sunrise to small hours, and the spaces between sets carry just as much magic. A properly curated spread of food and drink you'll happily queue for, merch booths that reward the true obsessives, quiet corners where you catch your breath before the next act reels you back in. Bring your mates, bring your person or fly solo. Nobody blinks, everybody stays till the lights come up.
Four editions deep, the festival earns its place as one of the city's most coveted dates. Now year five lands with everything turned up. Production, lighting, visuals, sound, a running order that glides from daylight to dark without a single dull moment.
You already know where you need to be.
Monster Music Festival takes over Queen Sirikit National Convention Center on July 25-26. Tickets cost B2,500, with an Early Bird price of B1,700. Sales open May 1-3 via here.

YONLAPA returns to Bangkok with ‘Homebound’, a full-scale solo concert this August 28
Chiang Mai's finest dream-pop export comes home for a proper headline show. YONLAPA – widely tipped as one of Thailand's classiest live acts – spend years winning hearts across Asia with their hazy, atmospheric sound, and now they're ready to throw their biggest party yet.
Photograph: YONLAPA2026
The band wrap a sprawling Asia tour in May, then drop a teaser on their fan page promising a first-ever full-scale solo gig in the capital. Today the details land, courtesy of Fungjai, the crew behind the new Fungjai SOLO Series, a concert strand built to spotlight each act's quirks and signature through carefully curated sets.
Hot on the heels of Bomb at Track's emotional farewell at Volume Livehouse (that one's SOLO Series 01), it's YONLAPA's turn to shine in Fungjai SOLO Series 02: YONLAPA 'Homebound'. The group and organisers keep the setlist tightly under wraps, but both promise a night that looks nothing like anything they've staged before. Expect a genuine milestone for a band that climbs from the northern city's underground rooms all the way to international billing.
You catch them on August 28 at Volume Livehouse, 5th floor of The Street Ratchada – and happily, all ages get the nod. Rounding up your mates pays off too, since the group rates knock a little off when you buy together.
Ticket prices roll out across four phases:
June 26-July 5
Early Bird: B790
Early Bird with Merch: B1,400
July 5-August 2
Regular 1: B890
Regular 1 Group: B790
August 2-August 27
Regular 2: B990
Regular 2 Group: B890
August 28
At Door: B1,290
Tickets go on sale from June 26 through Ticketmelon, so set a reminder and nab the cheap seats while they last. Given how fast this lot sell out elsewhere, dithering isn't really an option.

Thai indie-pop band KIKI joins the lineup at Japan’s legendary Fuji Rock Festival 2026
KIKI's summer just gets bigger. Fresh from announcing tour dates across Japan and Taiwan, the Thai indie-pop trio now lands a spot at Fuji Rock Festival 2026, one of the world's most celebrated outdoor music gatherings. Set against the mountains of Niigata Prefecture's Naeba Ski Resort from July 24-26, the festival has long served as a meeting point for heavyweight names and emerging acts. This year, a Thai band joins that conversation.
Photograph: KIKIFuji Rock Festival 2026
Anyone who has scanned a Fuji Rock poster knows the scale of the occasion. The 2026 edition welcomes artists such as The xx, Khruangbin, Massive Attack, Turnstile and Japanese superstar Fujii Kaze, drawing thousands of music lovers from across the globe. Sharing a billing with names of that calibre is another sign that Thai artists are finding audiences far beyond home turf.
Photograph: KIKIFuji Rock Festival 2026
Formed under Parinam Music, KIKI consists of vocalist and songwriter Helen, guitarist and synthesiser player Boss, and guitarist-producer Non. Their sound threads together indie pop, alternative textures and electronic flourishes – songs that sit comfortably between dreamy hooks and late-night introspection. Over the past few years, the group has steadily expanded its reach through festival appearances and touring schedules stretching across Asia and Europe, building a following that grows with every stop.
The trio takes to the Orange Echo stage on Sunday July 26, bringing a distinctly Thai voice to a lineup packed with international talent. If you're already plotting a trip to Naeba, add this set to the itinerary.

MILLI announces her first Asia concert tour with a Bangkok date on October 3
After years of tearing up festival stages, viral freestyle clips and sold-out hometown gigs, MILLI is finally taking things across Asia properly. The rapper gears up for her first full-scale concert tour, MILLI Jaa Ehh! Named after one of the standout tracks from HEAVYWEIGHT – the album that snags Album of the Year at the Toty Music Awards 2025 – the tour marks another big moment for the Thai star. The record pairs MILLI's rapid-fire delivery with heavier production and collabs from ATARASHII GAKKO!, Awich, Knock2, Gong from H 3 F and Hugo.

The run kicks off in Indonesia at the end of July before sweeping across the region and landing back in Bangkok on October 3 at Samyan Mitrtown Hall. Booming bass, crowd chants and the kind of unfiltered stage presence that makes MILLI one of Thailand's most unpredictable live acts right now.
