Why we love it: Speakerbox serves as a main stage for fusion jazz, psychedelic music and bands who thrive on live jam sessions without any limits holding them back. The energy of young musicians pushing the boundaries of jazz creates this electrifying atmosphere that's difficult to find anywhere else in the city. There's a real sense that anything could happen on any given night, which keeps things exciting even if you're a regular. The rawness of the space actually works in its favour too, stripping away any pretension and letting the music do all the talking.
