After countless launches of new cocktail dens and foreign mixologist takeovers, the city's six cocktail bars have managed to secure the spots in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2018 list.

Picking up the top spot among the rest of Bangkok’s bars is The Bamboo Bar at Mandarin Oriental Bangkok and is ranked at number 9.

Broadway-themed watering hole Backstage Cocktail Bar is placed at number 13, climbing up five spots from last year.

Also in the list are Silom sleek cocktail den Vesper, the popular after-hour watering hole Smalls, and soi Nana quirky cocktail institution Teens of Thailand which are placed at number 27, 29 and 44, respectively. Ku Bar, an Old Town’s speakeasy tucked inside an abandoned building, makes a new entry, coming in the list at number 49.

Meanwhile, Campari One to Watch — the special award given to a rising-star cocktail den with the potential to join the list next year — goes to Thonglor’s swanky speakeasy Rabbit Hole.

Dominating the list and claiming the crown for the second year in a row is Regent Hotel’s Manhattan in Singapore, which is known for an elegant 19-Century New York City vibe.

The award is the third regional edition of Drink Magazine’s The World’s 50 Best Bars — the magazine’s annual bar competition. The list is ranked by a panel of honorary judges consisting of Asia’s bartenders, bar consultants, brand ambassadors, drinks media as well as well-travelled drinkers.
