If you're after one event that ticks basically every box: sports, shopping, food, music and something for the whole family, there's a winner happening this week.
Princess's Cup Thailand is back in Bangkok after a stint in Pattaya last year. Running December 26-28, the event's pitched up at the Second Cavalry Division, King's Guard (that's BTS Sanam Pao for you) with a fresh format called 'Weekend and Lifestyle'. Basically, it's an outdoor festival meets horse racing, and it actually works.
So yeah, there's the main event, equestrian competitions with international riders going for the cup. But they've also turned the entire venue into this sprawling outdoor market run by Made by Legacy. You'll find home decor, handmade stuff, lifestyle bits, fashion and loads of unique pieces you won't see anywhere else.
The food situation is seriously good. The Food Bazaar has everything from international cuisine and homemade treats to street food favourites and dishes from some pretty notable chefs. There's a huge lawn where you can grab your food, spread out for a picnic and just chill whilst taking in the city views. The weather's still lovely and cool, so make the most of it.
Once evening hits, the vibe completely shifts. Live music and DJs take over with jazz, soul, disco, hip hop and electronic sets keeping things buzzing. Oh, and bring your dog or cat if you fancy, the whole thing's pet-friendly.
Princess's Cup Thailand, December 26-28 at the Second Cavalry Division, King's Guard (BTS Sanam Pao), 1pm-10pm. Free entry, free parking.
