Until recently, you couldn’t bring your dog (or cat) to any of Bangkok’s major parks. But Benjakitti Forest Park is going to change that. The recently expanded public green space recently unveiled a specified pet-friendly enclosure called Dog Park.

Located next to the park’s main entrance on Ratchapisek Road, Benjakitti’s Dog Park is a compact space where you and your four-legged pal can strut down a lane amid tropical greenery and meet new fluffy friends. Owners can rest on colorful benches and stools as they watch their pets socialize.

You, however, need to follow a few rules in order to bring in your dog. First, you will have to register him or her via LINE OA @701uemys prior to your visit. At the park, dogs must be under control and must be on a leash at all times (for the safety of both your dogs and the public). You also have to clean up after your pet (better load up on those poop bags). Dogs are not allowed in other zones of the park, including those Insta-ready overpasses that criss-cross through and over the trees.

While the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has launched dog-friendly zones at a few pocket parks in the suburbs, Benjakitti is the first to do so at a park in the city center. We have high hopes that BMA will take the concept over to other major parks like Lumphini and Rod Fai

Benjakitti Forest Park is open daily from 5:00 to 21:00
