More and more consumers have been pursuing healthier lifestyles, and this prompted Dutch lager brand, Heineken, to launch its very first “alcohol-free” version of its flagship pale ale in 2017. The drink has finally made its way to our shores—and we can’t wait to find out what Thailand’s tipplers think.

Dubbed Heineken 0.0, the beverage is made with typical beer ingredients such as malted barley, hop extract and water. The alcohol is then removed from the brew after fermentation, and then blended to get a malty and fruity flavor that’s just like the original. Our first few sips almost got us fooled. We really thought we were drinking good ol’ Heineken. We can see ourselves enjoying this "alcohol-free" version without having to worry about the massive hangover the next morning nor getting a beer gut—it’s just 69 calories per can.
