Queen of Thai Street Food Supinya “Jay Fai” Junsuta is featured in the new Netflix’s documentary Street Food taking audience on a street-side culinary journey throughout nine nations in Asia.

Brought to you by the creators of Chef’s Table which focuses mainly on chefs steering kitchens in haute cuisine and fine-dining establishments, Street Food showcases vibrant street food cultures through humble local "chefs" who whip up scrumptious bites, be it by the street-side pushcarts or in old-school shophouses. Each of the nine episodes focuses particularly on a single country, exploring Thailand, Japan, India, Indonesia, Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore and The Philippines.

In Thailand episode, Jay Fai gives a glimpse of an unfortunate turning point that changed her life from being a seamstress to cooking a chicken noodle, and how she climbed her way to become one of the world’s most celebrated street food chefs with Michelin accolades. The episode also features Soi Sukhumvit 38’s popular egg noodle pushcart (that has now been relocated to the area near Suan Luang Rama IX Park) and Chinatown’s famous khao gaeng (curry with rice) parlor Jek Pui.

Street Food is now streaming on Netflix
