From July 18 to 26, Netflix is turning Chang car park in Song Wat into a full-scale recreation of the East Palace mansion, the eerie setting at the heart of its new supernatural period drama The East Palace. Entry is free.

Premiering globally on Netflix on July 17, the eight-episode series follows Gu-cheon (Nam Joo-hyuk), a man who can cross into the spirit world. Together with court lady Saeng-gang (Roh Yoon-seo), he sets out to break a decades-old curse haunting the crown prince’s residence under the rule of Cho Seung-woo's king.

Netflix has recreated three key locations from the series for fans to explore and photograph: the palace’s front facade, marked by the bloodstains of its 30-year curse; a still pond hiding darker secrets beneath the surface; and a desolate 'spirit realm' cut off from the world of the living.

Opening hours vary across the nine-day run:

  • Weekends (July 18-19 & 25-26): 10am-8pm
  • Weekdays (July 20-24): 3pm-8pm

The venue is a short walk from MRT Wat Mangkon – take Exit 1 onto Plangnam Road.

A few ground rules apply: no running or jumping on the glass floors, and no food, drinks or large bags inside. Children under 12 must remain with a guardian throughout.
