After the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) officially announced the start of the rainy season on May 15, we knew the drizzles were here to stay. Now, they’ve warned that heavy to very heavy rain is expected to continue through May 27.
The department says the southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf is getting stronger and a monsoon trough is also moving across the upper parts of the country and the south. So, what it means for us is that more rain is on the way – possibly heavy in some areas.
With more rain on the horizon, your umbrella might just become as essential as your wallet. Sudden downpours can catch you off guard so it’s always a good idea to be prepared. And if you're stuck waiting out the rain, why not make the most of it? Check out our Things to Do or Food and Drink sections for options to pass the time indoors while you wait for clearer skies.
