The Bamboo Bar at Mandarin Oriental Bangkok has recently rolled out the new cocktail menu, whose flavors are inspired by provinces all over Thailand.

Jamie Rhind, the bar's head bartender, has decided to give the jazz-inspired cocktail list the complete makeover, and the result is Compass, an all-new menu comprising of easy-to-drink, refreshing tipples with a kick of exotic note from locally-made spirits. Start your journey in the North with the drink inspired by kaeng hung lay (the sweet Northern red curry with pork) with the mix of Phraya Rum with a hint of turmeric, ginger and tamarind (B420) or sip the Southern flavor of the cashew nut, which is exemplified in Cashew Down South—the rum-based drink with delightful complexity from cashew nut, spiced pineapple and cucumber (B420). Isan’s specialty somtum is reinterpreted as a sweet-and-sour tipple mixing the smooth Barrelhouse 53, The Bamboo Bar’s very own vodka, with clarified tomato, papaya and chili (B420).

Teetotalers can go easy with a number of impressive mocktail numbers like the delicious Khao Lam which tastes exactly like its original counterpart (B250).
