Five carefully chosen films explore love, friendship and life's turning points

Love cinema but fancy doing something different with your weekend? Instead of the usual mall cinema routine, hop to The Corner House Bangkok from March 27-29 for screenings of five classic films that actually make you feel something.
The Corner House teams up with Film I Trust for a screening series called Sip/Scent/Scene. Each film explores love, friendship and those awkward moments in life where you're trying to work out who you are. The setup keeps things cosy with just 35 seats per screening, so you're not squashed in with hundreds of strangers scrolling through their phones.
March 27
The Terminal (2004), 6.30pm
Tom Hanks gets stuck at JFK airport and somehow turns waiting around into one of cinema's loveliest experiences. His character transforms a soulless terminal into a place full of unexpected friendship and hope. Proper feel good stuff that makes you believe in people.
March 28
Forrest Gump (1994), 6.30pm
Another Hanky favourite, this one where good old Forest Gump, a man with a pure heart, stumbles through American history, becoming a war hero, cross country runner and shrimp business owner along the way. But really it's about one thing: finding and keeping love.
The Breakfast Club (1985), 9.10pm
Five teenagers from totally different social circles spend Saturday detention together. The rebellious one, the popular girl, the nerd, the sports star and the kid nobody notices all end up seeing each other as people, far beyond the stereotypes.
March 29
Love Actually (2003), 6.30pm
A classic British hearthrobber. Dozens of lives weave together across London in the month before Christmas. Some stories overflow with happiness, others deal with confusion or brave beginnings or beautiful goodbyes. It explores what love actually means in all its messy, hopeful forms.
Stand by Me (1986), 9pm
Four boys in 1950s America set off to find a missing kid and end up discovering what friendship costs and what it means. The adventure starts with boyish curiosity but becomes something deeper as they face fears and family wounds along those railroad tracks.
Tickets cost B250 and include a drink, book by clicking here.
At The Pavilion on the fourth floor at The Corner House Bangkok. March 27-29, with limited seats so booking ahead is recommended.
