If there’s one hotel that gamely represents LGBTQ, it’s W. And this June, W Bangkok will join Bangkok in celebrating Pride month with a number of activities, including panel discussions over pride and equality on June 2. But what we’re really waiting for is the after party on the same night, W After Dark

This year, W After Dark has grand plans to reimagine ballroom culture. To give you a heads up, ballroom culture or the ballroom scene was an underground subculture originated by the black LGBTQ community in New York in the late ’80s. Similar to a pageant, it sees drag queens competing while dressed in fabulous themed costumes. The major difference is, there’s dancing involved in—voguing, as it’s called. These days, ballroom culture has evolved into what you might see on RuPaul’s Drag Race or the award-winning series Pose

At this year’s ball-inspired W After Dark party, there will be no competition and no awards will be handed out. However, there will be shows by drag queens as well as dance performances by local voguers (you’re more than welcome to join them on the floor). DJs Taki and Noah will fly all the way from Japan to amp up the vibes.

Entry is free, but you're required to pre-register here
