Road to Bangkok World Music Day '26 brings two distinct musical moods from French artists, Macha Gharibian and FÜLÜ

If you caught last year's music takeover at One Bangkok and Alliance Française Bangkok, you'll know how brilliant it feels when public spaces transform into free music grounds. That was Fête de la Musique, or what most of the world calls World Music Day, and it's coming back.
The festival started in France, where millions pour onto the streets on the summer solstice (the longest day of the year) to celebrate music from dawn to dusk. Bangkok's version normally happens in June, but this year there's no need to wait until mid-year.
Alliance Française Bangkok has teamed up with One Bangkok and the French Embassy to launch Road to Bangkok World Music Day '26, a concert series warming things up ahead of the main event. Running on January 24 and 25. Here's what's on.
January 24, 6pm – Phenomenal Women Concert by Macha Gharibian
Spend the evening with Macha Gharibian, a pianist and singer who's carved out her own sound by weaving contemporary jazz with Armenian folk music. This is a solo concert format, meaning you get the full force of her musicality and emotion before she heads off to perform on bigger national stages.
January 25, 6pm – FÜLÜ Concert
If you need energy after a mellow Friday, FÜLÜ delivers. Fresh from causing mayhem at Wonderfruit festival, this lot combine brass instruments with electronic music to create hypnotic techno rhythms that feel like a carnival procession on steroids. It's the closing show of their Asia tour, so expect something lively and genuinely fresh.
Both nights take place at Alliance Française Bangkok on Wireless Road in Pathum Wan (pop out at MRT Lumpini Station, Exit 3). Tickets cost B500, or B350 if you're an Alliance member.
