Get in early for Isaan food at Fung Lam
Bang Kapi’s Fung Lam fills up fast, so arrive early for the larb, koi, soi jub and tom saep – sour, spicy, salty dishes loaded with fresh herbs. The raw space sits somewhere between a village house and a building site, with the easy feel of eating and drinking at a mate’s place. The owner had kept the name ‘Fung Lam’ on the shelf while opening two other venues, then returned to it because this style felt most like home. Come for the food and stay for the room-wide sing-alongs. On Wednesdays, the bar opens but the kitchen takes the night off, so you can bring in food from neighbouring stalls while you sip and listen.
