Time Out says

4 out of 5 stars

Bangkok’s health-conscious set has another reason to rejoice. Plantiful, the health food cafe that was originally established solely for delivery, now operates as a restaurant in Ekkamai, serving dishes made exclusively from organic, plant-based ingredients.

Diners can dig into a wide range of culinary offerings here, from all-day breakfast dishes, to brunch plates, to pasta, to healthy drinks and desserts. Menu musts include The Bibi Bowl (B220), a Korean-inspired dish that mixes Riceberry rice with spinach, shitake, beansprouts, carrots, cucumber and tofu. The sauce that’s drizzled on the bowl is mildly spicy, but has enough of a zing to wake up your senses.

Plantiful’s lasagna (B320) is another favorite, but this one comes with a healthy twist. Tomatoes and zucchini are the main ingredients of this plant-based version, alongside a vegan cheese that tastes just the real thing.

But what we’d really come back for is the pumpkin burrito (B260), an all-vegetable rework of the Mexican essential. A tortilla made from carrots is used to wrap pumpkin, avocado, assorted nuts, rice, and salsa. It also comes with the café’s Green Goddess dressing, which makes all the difference for this filling dish.

Health freaks with a sweet tooth can indulge in the banoffee pie (B120). At Plantiful, it’s made with coconut milk instead of cream, but it’s so delicious that you won’t care about the modification.

To quench your thirst, there’s an array of beverages, including fresh juices, smoothies and coffee. The decaffeinated tea latte (B110) is a great alternative for coffee drinkers who want to lay off the caffeine.
