Time Out says

Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok is now home to a new Italian restaurant, and it’s promising to be a must-visit. Named after the Italian word for “sage”, a condiment that’s essential to Italian cooking, Salvia positions itself as a place where families and friends can come together and enjoy meals made especially for sharing.

Head chef Roberto Parentela, who’s had 10 years of experience under his chef’s hat, helms the kitchen. He’s crafted a wide-ranging menu that reflects the authentic tastes of Italian food, as well as creative tweaks influenced by his Piedmont and Sardinian roots.

Start off your meal with the Prosciutto Crudo di Norcia (B490), a 24-month dry-aged Parma ham that will certainly tickle your appetite with its piercing sweet and salty flavors. Follow it up with the Burrata e Pomodori (B390), an amazing dish that pairs the soft and smooth cheese with organic multi-colored tomatoes.

Suggested mains include one of the restaurant’s scrumptious pastas, including a paccheri dish (B790) with homemade squid ink sauce mixed with fresh crab. If you don’t fancy seafood, then go for the Fusilli Caserecci al Ferretto (B330), which pairs fresh fusilli with a flavor-packed lamb sauce.

For heavier fare, Salvia serves Australian Angus rib eye (B1,380). Here, the meat is grilled over grapevines, which causes a strong, aromatic—and definitely tantalizing— scent to linger all over the restaurant.

What’s an Italian place without pizza? At Salvia, the Italian staple stands out for its thin, crispy crust and generous toppings. Try the Salsiccia e Broccolini (B230/B490) to understand why the pizza here is quickly becoming a favorite.

Don’t miss the desserts as well. Salvia’s tiramisu (B190) is fantastic but may not be kid-friendly because the chef uses amaretto to give a heady twist to this Italian favorite. Still, the kids can enjoy the Crostata di Mele (B190), an apple tart that tastes as wonderful as it looks.

Despite being situated inside a five-star hotel, Salvia’s vibe is far from intimidating. The place is ideal for relaxing with friends and family, and enjoying delicious fare that tastes like it’s made straight out of an Italian home.
