Two years after following his primary gastronomic passion, Shabu Baan Chant’s co-founder, Tee Phasux, has begun to offer authentic Southern Thai cuisine that’s tweaked for the Bangkok palate.
Shabu Baan Chant no longer just serves shabu with its signature homemade soups. Lunchtime customers at the Old Town venue can now experience convincingly Southern dishes at affordable prices. The regular menu includes khua kling (Southern Thai dry curry with pork), turmeric fried fish, moo wan (sweet pork condiment) and pad sator (Thai stink beans with pork).
Following the words of the family’s fortune teller, the founders of Shabu Bannai agreed to settle their loft-inspired nest in Thewet, the Old Town area. Inside, each unique wall tells the tale of an ingredient’s journey to and from Hua Rod Fai market.
