With awe-inspiring interiors styled like a traditional Chinese palace, red lanterns hanging from the ceiling, and a gigantic golden dragon to greet you at the door, this out-of-this-world venue looks like a movie set. But instead of martial artists flying out from behind the intricately carved woodwork, you have diners sitting down to enjoy some amazing hot pot at this already-popular restaurant called Shu Daxia.
Originating in Chengdu, Shu Daxia has more than 400 branches all over China and a few scattered across Asia. In Thailand, it has opened its first restaurant at Crystal Design Center on Praditmanutham Road.
The menu is replete with dishes packed with soulful Sichuanese flavors (served by staff who treat you like a “daxia” or a hero similar to that in movies). You’ve got six soups (from B100) to choose from, with hot and spicy Sichuan-style mala being the most popular. Each order comes with choices of meat such as beef, pork, and lamb, plus an array of side dishes.
It’s definitely a place for family and friends. You need someone to share the food with—and to take your photos.
