ChaTraMue Original Thai Tea Festival

Thai tea, long a national icon, is now winning fans worldwide. Few names are more closely tied to it than ChaTraMue, the family brand that grew from a small shop into Thailand’s best-known name in tea. For decades, its orange-hued brew has been poured over ice at street stalls, served in frosted cups, and bottled for tea lovers abroad. From September 19-21, the brand celebrates its 80th birthday. The Eden Zone at CentralWorld will transform into a mini world of tea. An exhibition will trace ChaTraMue’s eight decades, from its beginnings in 1945 to its present push onto the global stage. Alongside the nostalgia are modern touches, with a line-up of festival-only drinks and desserts that reinterpret Thai tea for today’s tastes. A big draw is the set of collaborations with local dessert makers each invited to create their own twist on the drink.  September 19-21. Eden Zone, CentralWorld, 10.30am-10pm.
