The Bangkok Music Society is setting the tone for the season with an afternoon built around reflection, comfort and a touch of ceremony. The programme centres on A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten, whose work still feels quietly radical in the way it balances innocence with modern edge. Hearing it live has a way of slowing the mind, the kind of pause many of us forget to take in December. Alongside Britten’s piece, the choir will perform both familiar and lesser-known Christmas works, stitched together to create a gentle passage from one year to the next. It is the sort of concert that offers a pocket of warmth in the middle of the city, perfect for anyone craving stillness, beauty and a reminder that the season can be soft as well as bright.
