Time Out says

The Sra Pathum Palace—a former residence of her majesty Queen Savang Vadhana, the queen consort of King Rama V and the grandmother of King Rama IX—opens its doors to the public again this year. The Phra Tamnak Yai (Queen Savang Vadhana Museum) within the palace grounds gives a peek into the everyday lives of the Thai royalty. Wander through the ceremony room with its large colonial-style dining table before exploring a receiving room decorated with elegant French furniture. The second floor houses a bedroom which leads out to the balcony where Queen Savang Vadhana presided over the royal wedding ceremony of her grandson. Once you get there, make sure you do check out the Sappatamawat Borom Khattiys Rajininat, the exhibition that highlights Queen Sirikit’s royal duties regarding the Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Center. Sra Pathum Palace now serves as the residence of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Reservations can be made at 0 2252 1965-7 (extension number 230).
