Bangkok’s most merciless comedy night doesn’t rely on critics or panels – it hands the power to the crowd. At the start, three people in the audience are given red cards. Once all three are raised, fuelled by cheers, groans and heckles, the performer’s set ends instantly. The gong sounds, the music cuts in, and they’re marched off. Some don’t last longer than a breath. The holy grail? Four uninterrupted minutes. Make it, and you’re a finalist, with the winner decided by sheer volume of applause. This is the fifth Comedy Gong Show, with veteran Stefan Bobner stepping in as special guest. It’s unpredictable, a little cruel and very funny – the sort of night where failure is as entertaining as triumph. Bring nerves of steel, or just a loud voice.
