This is the last total lunar eclipse for 3 years, so you will want to check it out.

We will be able to see a rare total lunar eclipse in Boston on Tuesday this week. However, get ready to get up early to see it.
The Lunar eclipse will have what is called “Totality” for nearly 1.5 hours from 5:16am to 6:41am EST.
A Lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes directly between the moon and sun, blocking the sunlight from reflecting off of the moon.
This eclipse is called the “Blood Moon” because the moon will have a reddish-orange hue caused by the reflection of the Earth’s sunrises and sunsets. Unlike a solar eclipse, a lunar eclipse is safe to view directly, and the experts actually recommend using binoculars and telescopes for the best view.
The Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles will be sharing a live stream of the eclipse, and this is the second total lunar eclipse this year. There was another one in May. All things considered, North America will have a decent view of this eclipse as South America will only get a glimpse of this one and Africa, the Middle East and most of Europe will not be able to see this one at all.
The next total lunar eclipse won’t occur until 2025.
If you are planning on waking up early for the eclipse tomorrow, perhaps you should treat yourself to a nice coffee or breakfast sandwich afterwards? Check out our guide to the best breakfast spots in Boston as well as all the coffee shops worth checking out right now.
