A fine meal with great service, a special menu with lots of upgrades and a champagne toast sounds like the ideal New Year’s Eve, right? If a gorgeous, celebratory supper to close out 2022 sounds good to you, read on to find the best local restaurants that will be open this New Year’s Eve, and get the details of the feasts they’ll be serving to celebrate. Boston Restaurants open on New Year’s Eve

Chef Will Gilson’s latest, an Italian inspired eatery with fresh pasta from Chef Tony Susi, will be serving a prix fixe menu on December 31. The menu will likely be packed with the restaurant’s modern Italian favorites, like the next level fried mozzarella.

The seriously cozy Southie spot will be serving dinner from 4pm-10pm in both the main dining room and the interior courtyard which will be transformed into an apres ski chalet for the restaurants annual Lodge at Publico pop up. Executive Chef Joel Howard’s full menu will be available along with specials like Pineland Farms boneless ribeye and Maryland style crab cakes. Complimentary oysters will be available in the atrium, and after 10pm dinner turns into a party with a live DJ.

Twirl pasta around your fork this New Year at MIDA this year. The South End spot and its Newton outpost will be offering a three-course, prix fixe menu for $65 per person. In addition to the Italian feast, guests can take the evening to the next level and indulge in optional supplements, such as caviar, risotto with truffles and wine pairings to accompany every course. There will be three seatings for the night, so be sure to secure your spot and make a reservation.

Cozy and special, this Cambridge spot will be hosting a special five-course dinner (normally only available to bigger parties) to close out the year, including oysters on the half shell, and wine pairings for each course. They’ll also be pouring specialty cocktails, local beers and wines by the glass or bottle. Seats are limited in this intimate, locally sourced spot, so be sure to reserve a space online well in advance.

Chef Michael Serpa’s chic bistro offers fresh, local seafood with Mediterranean influences in a cozy brownstone space. A carefully curated raw bar, creative crudo, and thoughtful entrees round out the menu. Guests can choose from a three-course, prix fixe menu for $125 per person, in addition to Select’s regularly available menu.

The luxurious Cantonese-style restaurant at Encore Boston Harbor will be serving up a prix fixe menu for revelers on New Year’s Eve for $120 per person. The menu will include a dim sum sampler, soup, choice of entree and dessert.

Stillwater is known for their take on craft comfort food with slightly Southern flair, and its NYE menu is no exception. Choose from Warm Baked Burratta served with Winter Ratatouille, Sherry Vinaigrette and Charred Baguette or Pesto Shrimp Brushetta for starters and then go for something hearty like a 10oz ribeye or a pan seared swordfish for a main course. And the whole feasts ends with a lava cake.

The recently opened Little Whale is an ode to the seaside clam shacks and raw bars of the New England coast, with a menu heavy on the classics – clam chowder, fried Ipswich clams and lobster rolls. To ring in the New Year, the restaurant will offer its New Year's Eve guests a three-course, prix fixe menu for $95 per person, in addition to its regularly available menu.

Celebrate the New Year at one of the hottest spots in town, with the best views. The rooftop eatery will be serving a fixed four-course menu of festive fare, at $250. While the menu isn’t final yet, expect the luxurious Italian-inspired dishes the restaurant is known for, along with a live band. Contessa is one of the toughest reservations in town on a random Tuesday, so grab your table early.

This steakhouse, located within Encore Boston Harbor, will be in rare form on New Year’s Eve, offering a luxurious, five-course prix fixe dinner with wine pairings for each. 

Decadent dishes include an amuse of Sturgeon caviar toast, nori encrusted yellowtail tuna, prawn encrusted turbot with shrimp consommé, Snake River Farms ribeye and a selection of desserts. Dinner is $175 per guest with an additional wine pairing for $125 each. Reservations can be made online.
