The 8 music acts we want to see live in Cape Town in 2026

We can feel it in our bones that a big announcement is coming soon, but who will it be? We've got some thoughts on the matter...

A little birdy has been tweeting loudly to us at Time Out Cape Town... there's a lot on the horizon for live music in the next year or two, not least the big rumours around BTS and Coldplay's announcement while on stage.

We've also got the Calabash news from Big Concerts, with the mini-festival returning in February 2026.

So, while we know there will be live stadium shows coming, who exactly will be taking to the stage in Cape Town?

Well, we have a wishlist below, so we hope the organisers are listening...

In the meantime, you can keep abreast of all the events taking place in Cape Town in our comprehensive guide.

The acts we'd love to see live...

Drake

Aubrey Drake Graham turns 40 next year, so what better way to celebrate the milestone birthday than with a show in Cape Town? There have been some very loose rumours floating around that the Canadian rapper will be heading to our shores, but we will wait for the official announcement before we get excited. It's God's Plan after all...

Time Out Cape Town's Drake Top 3: God's PlanOne Dance, and Hotline Bling.

Dua Lipa

Another milestone birthday that could be spent in Cape Town is Dua Lipa's 30th (yes, she will be 31 in 2026, but 30th birthdays deserve long celebrations). The English singer is loved down in the Mother City, so a show at the DHL Stadium would no doubt sell out. She is currently on tour in South America, so a hop across the Atlantic would be much appreciated. Or maybe she could levitate here?

Time Out Cape Town's Dua Lipa Top 3: Houdini, One Kiss, and Levitating.

Pearl Jam

Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder has a penchant for a surf. It is well documented that he loves a visit to Jeffreys Bay to catch some waves. What does he have against doing the same in Cape Town... and bringing his band mates with him for a few shows? The Seattle band need to end this stalemate with South African stages and finally make us feel Alive!

Time Out Cape Town's Pearl Jam Top 3: Even Flow, Daughter, and Black.

Sabrina Carpenter

Just like Dua Lipa, Sabrina Carpenter is heading to South America soon for a tour. Can we swap the 'merica' out for 'frica', Please Please Please? The child actress-turned-global singing sensation has built up a large following globally and we'd love to see her live in concert in 2026. Oh, and if she doesn't come, well that's just Nonsense.

Time Out Cape Town's Sabrina Carpenter Top 3: Please Please Please, Espresso, and Feather.

Linkin Park

Linkin Park are fully back on the touring scene with a new singer following the tragic passing of Chester Bennington. Some fans aren't happy with Chester's replacement, while others feel it's a refresh the band required to help keep Chester's legacy alive. However you feel about them, you'll admit that seeing them live in concert would be wonderful. I mean, in the end, it does matter...

Time Out Cape Town's Linkin Park Top 3: In The End, Crawling, and Numb

Taylor Swift

This one doesn't really need much in the words department... it's Tay Tay! It really is time for her Cape Town Era, so she needs to Shake It Off and get that tour sorted, or else, you know, Karma.

Time Out Cape Town's Taylor Swift Top 3: Bad Blood, Blank Space, and Anti-Hero.

Eminem

Remember those rumours of Eminem coming out to Cape Town with other Hip Hop heavyweights for some massive tour? It was Dr Dre, 50 Cent, Snoop etc. Yeah, I'm still waiting... but, hey, maybe old Marshall can just come on his own? The Rap God would easily sell out the DHL Stadium and his massive catalogue of hits would keep us entertained long into the night. You could almost Lose Yourself in them...

Time Out Cape Town's Eminem Top 3: Without Me, Lose Yourself, and My Name Is.

Blink-182

Now that Blink-182 are back to their original form (well, their best known form), are we finally going to get to see them live in Cape Town? Calabash, anyone? Green Day and Offspring were amazing earlier this year, so it just feels right for Blink to follow suit. Mark, Tom, and Travis, it's time for The Rock Show!

Time Out Cape Town's Blink-182 Top 3: What's My Age Again?, All The Small Things, and First Date
