April, myriad programs. In the first month of real Spring, celebrating the 50 years of the Carnation Revolution, there's no shortage of things to do in Cascais. The challenge will be choosing. The new gastronomic hub of the town, One Market, is officially inaugurated, with music, menus, and exclusive discounts. The Estoril Casino hosts a board game festival, while its gardens are the stage for a mega zumba class. Part of the Marginal will be closed for a morning to promote physical activity. The municipality also offers workshops, showcooking events, second-hand markets, and shows to enjoy over the next few weeks.

The Time Out reported in February: Cascais has a new gastronomic hub, the One Market, located in the commercial galleries of the luxury development One Living. They have been in soft-opening, but the official inauguration will take place on April 13th, between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm, in an event that will feature a performance by Tatanka and a series of special offers, from menus to exclusive discounts from restaurants and shops. It will be a great opportunity to discover the new "fashion food district" of the town.

Sometimes the most important thing is to be in the right place at the right time. When Jorge Castro received a phone call in the early hours of April 25th, 1974, urging for a popular mobilization in downtown Lisbon, he promptly responded to the call and took his camera with him. The images he captured on that historic day, and in the days that followed until May 1st, also became remarkable records, which are now showcased in the exhibition "Life Took to the Streets on a Day Like This", which will be on display at the Municipal Library of Cascais - São Domingos de Rana, from April 6th to May 4th, as part of the commemorations of the 50th anniversary of the revolution.

Another initiative celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 25 de Abril Revolution in Cascais is this poster workshop, where families can take their kids to discover how to make posters for a demonstration, promoting civic and political engagement from an early age. The workshop takes place at the Municipal Historical Archive of Cascais - Casa Sommer and is based on the stencil technique and movable type printing. Registration must be done through this form.
