“Karen Reimer: Shoretime Spaceline”

The Hyde Park Art Center sits on a patch of land that once hosted the Chicago Beach Hotel, which housed travelers during the World's Columbian Exposition of 1983. Reimer’s large-scale installation draws inspiration from this fabled building, using fabric and sand to create an artificial oceanfront scene.
