Time Out says

Brothers Chris and Calvin Marty bought the old Marble Bar and reopened it as Best Intentions. The dive bar charm remains, although the bar is a little sleeker and the drinks are much better. Settle into a table on the big back patio, or sidle up to the bar for minty Wondermint Malted shakes, shots of Angostura bitters (they're the only bar anywhere with the bitters on draft) and a list of well-made classics. Fill up on pig face fritters or a double cheesburger while you're at it.

It is so inconvenient for me to go to this bar because of how far it is from my house, but somehow I find myself going back to Best Intentions time and time again. The dive-y vibe of the inside bar is just my style and on warmer days (those rate, fleeting months we get to experience them in Chicago) the patio is an amazing spot to knock back a few drinks. The cocktail menu rotates regularly, but do yourself a favor and start with the Wondermint Malt, the rich, boozy shake tastes like a grown-up version of a Shamrock Shake.

Best Intention's patio is probably one of the best kept secrets of Logan Square. When you walk into the front of the bar (which doesn't even have a sign and can be hard to find) it kind if looks like a regular Logan Square dive bar, but outside a shaded, picnic table oasis awaits you. And, you might not expect their food to be that good but they have one of THE best burgers in Chicago. Seriously, if you haven't been yet, this should be at the top of your list for Chicago patios to try this summer.

I went here for the first time on a beautiful Friday night, so the patio was in full swing. We ended up sharing a large table with six strangers (to reduce wait time) and making friends. Everyone seemed very friendly, or else very excited about the great weather. Go there for the cocktails and order a moscow mule made with homemade ginger beer plus a horchata margarita. The food menu is also pretty rad though if you get hungry (pig face fritters, if my memory serves me right). I will be back soon to try the mint slush cocktail!

Best Intentions is such a fun & unique bar. It has the ambience of a dive bar but a menu that covers everything from beers to perfectly constructed cocktails. Their Daiquiri is a must! The space also plays some killer jams. Definitely make sure to check this bar out the next time you're in Logan!

I love the dive bar feel of Best Intentions. The cocktails are always interestingly named and well made. The Krieger in the Hotbox is a delicious hot cocktail perfect for warming the coldest of bones.

Best Intentions was a very pleasant surprise on Armitage in Logan Square. The deck is spacious and inviting and the staff is friendly and talkative. Every drink I tried there I would recommend — from the Moscow Mule (in a can!) to the bar's Wondermint Malted (totally delicious and I want to drink it every single day). There were some really good food options too, including the tasty beet and avocado take on a po' boy that is perfect for vegetarians. Apparently the space itself has had quite an overhaul. I didn't see it in its previous incarnation, but I can definitely say this is the kind of place where I would stay all evening on the patio or, on a less pleasant day, plop down on a barstool in front of the retro "Fancy Cocktail Bar" sign and just chill all night.

I was a big fan of Marble and miss their cheese curds dearly, but Best Intentions is winning me over with their Wondermint cocktail (like a boozy milkshake!) and their perfectly fried po’ boys. The tempura oyster and fried shrimp options are my favorites, and their cajun fries are fresh and fried perfectly. The back patio is still one of the cutest and most chill patios in Logan Square. A great neighborhood bar and a perfect spot to spend a long night.
