Even when it gets packed with the typical Division Street crowd, this Irish pub has an old soul. Antique beer paraphernalia and the signature Christmas decor hang from the ceiling year-round, and the green-tinged lighting sets the scene for a lively time at this Gold Coast icon.
The vibe: A come-as-you-are pub on the busy Division Street that's popular with the bar-hopping crowd. It's also a popular spot to post up with your crew on game day.
The food: A full menu of bar classics like wings, sliders and nachos are on offer for lunch and dinner. On weekends, the brunch menu features wraps, skillets and egg dishes, plus a selection of "liquid brunch" options like a jumbo mimosa and a coffee martini.
The drinks: Butch McGuire's offers a lineup of local brews, including Gumballhead and Butch's Golden Ale, courtesy of Revolution Brewing, plus layered beers like the Black & Blue (Blue Moon and Guinness) and Velvet Hammer (cider and Guinness). Many nights, though, the most popular orders are vodka soda and canned seltzers.
Time Out tip: Every weekday has a theme with a rotation of events and discounts, like Monday Comedy & Burgers and Tuesday Trivia & Ribs nights.
