27 things we wish Santa would bring Chicago for Christmas

Dear Santa,

We'd like to start out by saying we've been good this year. Like, realllllllllly good. We’ve held the door open for our neighbors and given frantic tourists directions to “that face fountain that spits on the kids.” We don’t ask for much, and we barely even complain about the cold. So, while we know we may be getting a little old for this, we have a few little requests this year:

1. Snow. But snow that then magically disappears the day after Christmas instead of turning into slushy garbage.

2. Rain-free summer music festivals so we don't all turn into mud people.

3. The strength to survive an additional day of Lollapalooza.

4. A new Chance the Rapper mixtape or album.

5. At least one more Adele concert at the United Center since we couldn't get tickets in time for the first three nights.

6. A 2016 Cubs World Series.

7. An Uber surge-free New Year's Eve.

8. A train that connects the North and West sides.

9. For our Ventra cards to work on the first tap.

10. Trains that appear when we click our heels together three times.

11. More (hotter?) heat lamps at El stops.

12. More lights like the ones to come on Wabash, but everywhere!

13. All our traffic tickets waived, just this once. It's almost 2016 after all. We deserve a fresh start!

14. Fewer delayed/more frequent buses (especially the ones from the North to West side!).

15. Fewer delayed flights at O’Hare.

16. Reasonable rent prices.

17. More Rainbow Cone locations.

18. More Filipino restaurants.

19. More Hot Doug's pop-ups/festivals (for those of us who can't afford Cubs tickets).

20. An official 3 Floyds Brewpub in city limits.

21. Cocktail bars on the South and North sides.

22. More happy hour specials.

23. A “proceed straight to the table of your choice” pass at Lost Lake, or really any of these bar escapes.

24. More bookstore bars.

25. Another Chicago Athletic Association-style funhouse for adults.

26. Just one street without a gaping pothole.

27. Peace in the city.

Thanks Santa,

Time Out Chicago
