Ravenswood knows how to start the summer off right. The neighborhood will be debuting a new farmers market and a beer festival, according to a report from DNAinfo.

The announcement of the Chicago farmers market schedule means warmer weather is right around the corner (we hope). The new Ravenswood Farmers Market will open on May 25 from 4-8pm and run through mid-September at Ravenswood Evangelical Covenant Church located at 4900 N Damen Avenue.

Visitor will be able to grab produce, cheese and other goods from vendors such as Benton Harbor Bee Company, Hilary's Cookies, Highrise Baking Company, Patyk's Farm & Greenhouse, Stamper Cheese Company and Yvolina's Tamales. Look out for the addition of other vendors and local artists as the opening date approaches.

Of course, there can never be too many beer festivals in Chicago. Mark your calendar for the inaugural Ravenswood On Tap festival on June 25. Empirical Brewery will host the event outside its tap room on Foster and Ravenswood. Brews from Band of Bohemia, Spiteful, Half Acre, Begyle, Aquanaut and Dovetail will be available for tasting. If for some reason you're not a beer fan, Koval Distillery will also be in attendance, in addition to food trucks, live music and neighborhood retailers.
