Most of us never step foot into the Loop's network of alleys, but last summer the Chicago Loop Alliance encouraged residents to explore their urban surrounding by livening up some of the most cramped spaces downtown with light shows, art installations, DJs and dancers. This summer, the ACTIVATE event series is returning to various narrow passages, enlisting local artists, musicians and creatives to transform nondescript stretches of pavement into lively soirées.
Want to party in an alley? You'll want to stick around the Loop from 5–10pm on May 15, June 12, July 30, August 27, September 18 and October 16. The location of each event will be announced the month prior, so keep an eye on the ACTIVATE website and don't forget to RSVP each month to score a free drink ticket. Trust us, legally drinking in an alley is more fun.
