Local favorites, award-winning international ensembles and some fresh new faces make up the 2017 Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival lineup. SketchFest announced Friday that 160 groups will perform 180 shows at Stage 773 from Jan 5–15.
The so-called sketch comedy oasis is the largest festival of its kind with award-winning L.A. sketch comedy troupe The Cool Table (featuring Kyle Moore) and New York's Pop Roulette (featuring SNL writer Sudi Green) among this year’s headliners.
The festival will also feature several SketchFest veterans, such as Rabbit Rabbit, The Defiant Thomas Brothers and The Cupid Players. The Vancouver-based three-time Canadian Comedy Award-winning sketch troupe, Peter n' Chris, and Winnipeg’s own Hot Thespian Action are among a number of international ensembles looking to put their own spin on the festival.
