Jacob Dickey will take over the title role in the touring production of Disney's Aladdin that’s currently encamped in Chicago, beginning with tonight’s performance.

Dickey, who has recently been playing Aladdin in the Broadway production, will temporarily replace original Broadway star Adam Jacobs, who left the New York production in February to lead the tour, which launched in Chicago in April. Jacobs is “on a minor medical leave of absence until further notice,” according to a statement from Broadway in Chicago.

Dickey’s time in the leading role in the New York production, which he took over on May 2, was nearly up—Telly Leung is set to take over as Broadway’s Aladdin on June 13.

Aladdin continues at Broadway in Chicago’s Cadillac Palace Theatre through September 10 before moving on to Minneapolis.
